Indian Street Art →

Thinking of what to write about for the Indian context - street art as a space for advertizing has long existed but not as a means for individual expression. However, I am not a huge fan of the emerging graffiti culture in Delhi, for instance (Though Mumbai has some awesome stuff).

The Free Binayak Sen stencils was an example of the type of political activism that gives that kind of work legitimacy (to my mind) at least in a space where it is still maturing. I’ve seen beautiful, artisan expression on walls in Mumbai which feels more like real street art - not the scribbles seen in HKV or ads for musicians. An ad is, at some level, always going to remain an ad.

AmsterdamizeTV - Broadcasting good city living 24/7!

“Talk about capturing good city living!  His blog is also great…particularly this post! Moaners take note, cycling in cities isn’t about sport, lycra, helmets, cyclists running red lights, riding on pavements, “road tax” arguments….its about sharing road space fairly, conscientiousness, having infrastructure where required and above all, a good quality city environment for everyone!”
